CD Description: Watcha Clan, from the South of France, are part of the Nu-European World-Beat trend and hot on the heels of other world globalistas such as Ojos de Brujo and Gogol Bordello. Influenced by the sounds and people in the melting pot of Marseille, their music is a colourful mix of electronic club beats, drum'n'bass, dub and reggae, combined with traditional Mediterranean, Arabic and Eastern European/Balkan sounds reflecting the band members' different heritages and influences.Recorded in Oran, Algeria and in Agadir, Morocco with additional production by Tim Whelan (Transglobal Underground) the end product is the thoroughly danceable, very modern sounding, yet traditionally-rooted Diaspora Hi-Fi.
