Leurs polyphonies vocales conduites par un soliste inspiré, leurs jeux de trompes en hoquet, leurs pièces pour percussions participent au pêle, un rituel total dans lequel la société toute entière se met en représentation
The Kpelle are a forest people. They have developped a sophisticated musical art. Their vocal polyphonies led by an inspired soloist, their trumpets played in hocket, their pieces for percussions take part in the pêle, a global ritual in which the whole society commits itself in performance
